Tailored Admissions Guidance for Your Family

Choosing a school for your child is one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make. With our 20 years of experience, we can demystify the admissions process for you, providing guidance tailored to your unique child and your family. Our team works with families at any point in the process, from building a school list to finalizing enrollment. Many families feel intimidated by school admissions, but we’ve seen it all and will happily hold your hand throughout the entire process.

We work with families to develop a customized school list tailored to your unique child. When it comes to school admissions, preparation is key, and we are happy to offer interview preparation sessions for both parents and students, as well as mock interviews and mock playgroups for actionable feedback to get parents and applicants ready for their interactions with school. At New York Admissions, we are your child’s advocate, and will be a liaison between your family and the schools throughout the process.

  • Choosing the best environment for a young child can be a daunting task for any parent. Anticipating a child’s needs as they grow is a challenge, and we will guide you through your many nursery and early education options as your family embarks on this years-long educational journey.

  • New York City offers a wide range of possibilities for ongoing schools, but options can be overwhelming when choosing the place where your child may spend 13+ years of their life. We will help your family choose between traditional and progressive, single sex and co-ed, and religious and secular schools to find the right fit for your child.

  • New York Admissions helps families navigate the complex system of New York City public school choice, including selective middle and high schools and elite specialized high schools. We demystify the public school admissions process and help families save time, reduce aggravation, and understand how to maximize your child’s chances of securing a top choice school.

  • New York Admissions works with families from around the world and close to home on private and public school admissions in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, as well as nationally and internationally. If you are relocating to or from New York, we have the connections and experience to help you identify and get into the best private or public schools for your child, even in non-entry-point years.

  • Extenuating circumstances sometimes arise in your child’s school career. We understand the unique challenge families are in when they need to find immediate placement for their child, and know that these experiences can be painful or stressful for the entire family. We are experienced in difficult placement situations, whether for behavioral, academic, or social issues, and more.

  • New York Admissions provides consulting services to schools and corporations for curriculum analysis and development, supplementary school placement support, as well as marketing and communications strategies. We have worked with administrators and boards of directors of new and expanding schools in cities worldwide, including Hong Kong, Abu Dhabi, London, New Orleans, and New York City.

Our Process

We always begin by meeting with parents to assess needs. From there, we review your child’s test scores, assessments, and school reports, and meet the child. Together we will identify target schools, and then review deadlines and procedures for tours, interviews, and applications, and help with scheduling school visits.

New York Admissions will work with your family to prepare for parent and student tours and interviews, and determine any additional needs to strengthen your child’s application. We’ll review your application essays, as well as tour and interview thank you notes.

As you move through the admissions process, New York Admissions is your liaison with the schools and will advocate for your child when necessary. We will help you determine your first-choice and top-choice schools, and then review your first-choice and top-choice letters.

Finally—our favorite part—we’ll celebrate acceptances!
